Hi,
There have been quite a few discussions around the Nodes and the rewards operators are receiving for running these nodes. I believe that the split of rewards 80/20 between nodes and Beam stakers is a good split. The concerns seem to come from the total value of the rewards that will be received each epoch. Obviously the amounts will depend upon token performance to a degree, but should there be a minimum USD value that is distributed each epoch for example?
The first three epochs have had varying amounts paid out, mainly in $ATH. Now clearly these amounts have varied based on the performance of the $ATH token. The first epoch total USD amount was roughly $1million, the second was roughly $750,000 and the third was roughly $450,000.
Should there be some clear guidelines on the amounts that are paid out each epoch? Because at the moment it is not clear at all how these amounts are decided.
For example, with a treasury of $186,000,000 (latest info) there is scope to introduce a minimum amount without putting excess stress on the treasury value. If you implemented a minimum epoch distribution amount of $500,000 then annualized this is 3.2% ($500,000x12/$186,000,000*100 = 3.2%) of the treasury value which is hardly a stretch. At least then operators would know the minimum rewards in USD that will be paid out each epoch and the team can point to guidelines of how rewards are distributed.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this and does the team have any concerns?
Many thanks
